Breaking: Emefiele not in our custody – DSS
The Department of State Services has said the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is not in its custody.
It disclosed this on Saturday via the agency’s Twitter handle.
“Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS,” it stated.
President Bola Tinubu on Friday night ordered the suspension of Emefiele over an investigation.
He was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the CBN governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.
Emefiele was later said to have been picked up by operatives of the DSS.
