Breaking: FCT gets powers to use IGR for Abuja development
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has received approval of the Federal Government to utilise the territory’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the development of the nation’s capital.
Minister of the FCT, Nyesome Wike, said President Bola Tinubu, gave the approval.
To achieve this, he said the FCTA had been pulled out of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
Wike disclosed this at a press conference on Friday in Abuja.
All federal revenues are collected and sent to the government’s coffers through the TSA.
Wike also said the President had approved the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission to allow for staff career progression.
