Breaking: Former President Muhammadu Buhari is dead
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has died in London, according to an announcement made by his former aide, Bashir Ahmad.
Ahmad shared the news via a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.”
Buhari, who led Nigeria as a civilian president from 2015 to 2023, had earlier served as military head of state between 1983 and 1985. He was widely recognized for his anti-corruption drive and policies aimed at economic stabilization during his time in office.
