Breaking: Gunmen kill three in Osun, attack house of Assembly Speaker, others

About three persons have been killed in Ilesa, Osun State after gunmen stormed the homes of some members of the All Progressive Congress in the wee hours of Wednesday. Speaker of the House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, narrowly escaped being killed when the gunmen stormed his Groove Hill Hotel Ilesa at about 2am Wednesday morning. When contacted to confirm attacks on him and his hotel,

Owoeye told the NPO Reports on phone Wednesday morning that it took many hours of gun duel with the assailants to be dislodged.

According to Owoeye, the hoodlums came at exactly 2.05am and started shooting into the hotel.
“But our men also engaged them,” he said
Owoeye alleged that a House of Assembly candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party whose name he gave as Akerele (a.k.a Water) led those who came to attack him in his hotel.
NPO Reports was told that the attacks were looked a coordinated ones as other gunmen also went to attack a restaurant Bukateria belonging to a member of the House of Assembly from the area, Prince Wale Adedoyin.
It was also gathered that the gunmen visited car lot of a chieftain of the APC, Faworowa.
Owoeye however told the NPO Reports that three of the attackers have been arrested and are currently with the police.
As at the time of this report, attempt to speak with the spokeswoman of the Police Command in Osun Yemisi Opalola had not yielded result.
