Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra were on Monday prevented by the police from witnessing the trial of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The police chased away the aggrieved members of the group who had stormed the court ahead of the trial.
Kanu had not been brought to court when his loyalists were gradually increasing in number around the court.
A man dressed in black was said to have addressed some pressmen. He spoke in Igbo language.
As their number increased, policemen came to the place and chased them away.
Security operatives had cordoned off the entrance to the venue of the trial.
Vehicles loaded with operatives of the Nigeria Police and the Department of States Services also prevented unaccredited journalists and members of the public from accessing the court.
Security agencies also redirected traffic and people from the road adjacent leading to the court.
