A section of a two-storey building collapsed in Abuja on Saturday morning, with several people trapped in the rubble.
Although emergency responders and security personnel were on the ground, rescue efforts were reportedly hampered as the cranes needed were not available abou two hours after the building caved in.
Newstrends learnt that two persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, just as some of the residents escaped on their own.
A report by Vanguard quoted one of the escapees as saying that when she woke up around 7am and came out of the house, she began hearing some cracks and then ran out.
