BREAKING: N70bn fraud: Matawalle can’t escape probe, says EFCC as protesters storm anti-graft office

Zamfara State demonstrators blocked the door to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) headquarters on Friday.

They are requesting that the anti-graft bureau restart its probe into Bello Matawalle, the former state governor.

According to Channels TV, the demonstrators, under the auspices the APC Loyalists Forum, demand that the EFCC look into every petition filed against the former governor.

This includes the alleged contract diversion up to the tune of N70 billion during his tenure as governor of the state.

The EFCC Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren, was said to have received the protest letter on behalf of the chairman.

He assured the protesters that the EFCC is determined to pursue every corruption case to a logical conclusion.
