BREAKING : PDP announces new acting national chairman
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named Yayari Mohammed as its new Acting National Chairman amid the party’s ongoing crisis.
This decision follows the reported suspension of the current acting national chairman, Ambassador Illiya Damagum.
Despite a recent Federal High Court order in Abuja, which restrained the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Damagum, the party proceeded with the appointment.
On Friday, the court ruling temporarily barred any action against Damagum’s position as Acting National Chairman.
Nevertheless, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced Mohammed’s appointment through an official statement on the same day.
