BREAKING: Rivers Assembly reconvenes, passes vote of confidence in Gov Fubara

Rivers State House of Assembly has praised the state governor Siminalayi Fubara for his development efforts and security measures in the state.

The lawmakers however condemned the attack on the House Speaker’s residence and the burning of the state assembly.

The House emphasized the need for the Inspector General of Police and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incidents.

Under the direction of Speaker, Edison Ehie, the Rivers State House of Assembly reconvened on Tuesday as security guards were stationed inside the legislative complex.

During their first meeting following the crisis that rocked the House, the legislators gave Governor Fubara a vote of confidence.

The House decided to keep providing the governor with the necessary backing so he could carry out his programme of continuity and consolidation for the good of the state.

The governor was urged to start the rehabilitation process immediately.
