The Supreme Court has finally set Thursday, October 26, as the day for the delivery of final judgments in the two remaining cases contesting the validity or otherwise of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the last presidential election.

They are petitions submitted by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Dr Awemeri Festus Akande, the Supreme Court’s Director of Press and Information, confirmed the situation on Wednesday.

He stated that suitable security measures have been put in place to prevent security breaches both inside and outside the courthouse.

A 7-man panel of Justices of the Court led by Justice John Inyang Okoro had on Monday taken final arguments from lawyers to parties in the petitions.

The Justices thereafter reserved their judgments.
