Breaking: Tinubu picks Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has emerged Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

A report by PMNews quoted Olanrenwaju Smart Wasiu, chief of staff to Gbajabiamila, as confirming this.

Wasiu said the Tinubu appointed Gbajabiamila on Thursday after several hours of meetings and consultations.

The decision to pick Gbajabiamila was said to have been made by the President after evaluating all possible candidates aspiring for the post among his loyalists.

Gbajabiamila was recently re-elected to represent Surulere 1 Lagos constituency in the House of Representatives.

But he is yet to receive his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to Wasiu, Gbajabiamila was picked by the president after a final meeting with stakeholders that ended on Thursday morning at the Villa in Abuja.
