BREAKING: Troops rescue 7 kidnapped Zamfara university students
Seven more female students from the Federal University of Gusau (FUG) in Zamfara have been rescued by the Joint Task Force (JTF) of Operation Hadarin Daji.
On Friday, robbers broke into the institution and stole around 20 students from their rented residence in Sabon Gida, the state’s Bungudu LGA.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the seven students were rescued alongside three male workers of Gupran Engineering services LTD.

The troops had earlier rescued six female students on Friday.
This means a total of 13 students have been rescued so far.
In a statement on Sunday, President Bola Tinubu directed security agencies to rescue “the remaining female students” abducted by terrorists”.
In June, students of the university protested the rising cases of abduction in the Sabon-Gida and Dama communities.
Also, five students were abducted from the College of Health Science and Technology in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state in June.
