Gypsy king, Tyson Fury ended Deontay Wilder’s challenge in their trilogy fight with an 11th round knockout on Sunday.
With a total of five knockdowns – two for Fury and three for Wilder, it lived up to its billing which Fury acknowledged when after the fight he said, “I’m not going to lie, Wilder gave me a good fight, but like I’ve said before, I’m the best fighter and he’s the second best”
Fury had Wilder bleeding from his right ear and mouth in similar fashion to how their second fight in 2020 played out. Even though Wilder looked worn out, he managed to drag it to the penultimate round before hitting the canvas for the third time where referee Russell Mora ended it to put him out of his misery.
The victory means that Tyson Fury retains his WBC heavyweight title and is yet to suffer a defeat in his professional boxing career, winning with a knockout in 23 out of his 33 fights and drawing just once against Deontay Wilder when they first met.
