Updated: Buhari calls Tinubu on birthday: You have my support
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, and Ex-Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, have sent warm greetings to President Bola Tinubu on his 72nd birthday.
In a statement on Friday, Garba Shehu, former presidential spokesperson, said Buhari had a telephone conversation with Tinubu during which he congratulated the president on his 72nd birthday.
Shehu said the former president followed his public statement on Tinubu’s birthday with a telephone conversation.
“In the course of the conversation, the former president said he was fully committed to the success of the APC administration under President Tinubu,” the statement read.
Earlier in a post on his official X page, Buhari praised Tinubu for his “excellent leadership”.
He also prayed for good health for the President.
Buhari wrote: “Happy 72nd Birthday to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT,” Buhari wrote.
“I commend you for your excellent leadership, and the sustained efforts to overcome the many problems of the country.
“My family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you, and many happy returns of the day!”
Also, Osinbajo in a post on his X page, congratulated Tinubu and asked God to grant him more strength.
“Happy 72nd Birthday President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. May the Lord God Almighty grant you robust health, unyielding strength in this year and the many years to come, and divine help and wisdom always,” Osinbajo wrote.
