The University of Lagos Guest House was a beehive of activities over the weekend as former students of the Department of History and Strategic Studies 1994 set gathered together for a reunion after graduation about three decades ago.

Camaraderie, conviviality, and nolstagia rented the air as they recounted their experiences during their undergraduate years and post graduation period.

In a welcome address, Chairman of the forum, Chief Luka Igbonoba, thanked God for His mercy and benevolence over his colleagues, describing the occasion as emotional seeing his colleagues again after many years of separation.

Igbonoba, a former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, suggested that the reunion should be an annual event.

According to him, this will avail members the opportunity to dissect some of the problems affecting them and proffer practicable solutions.

The chairman called on his colleagues to see themselves as an entity and work as a team to better their lots, enjoining them to be their brother’s keeper.

After a minute silence for the repose of the souls of the departed colleagues, he commended the organising committee of the 29 years grand reunion headed by Pastor (Mrs.) Christy Ben Fumike popularly called Mummy G.O and other members for putting up a befitting event.

In her remarks, the organising committee chairman, Mrs Ben- Akinduro, thanked members for attending the event and promised that the 30th anniversary of the group would be more prosperous and enjoyable.

The event was attended by Kola Alao; Charles Fayeun; Wasiu Jimoh; Pastor Ginikanwa Nwazoria, and Mrs. Meg Ansa-Cole.
