The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has claimed that 163 Christians were abducted during church services in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, Southern Kaduna. According to CAN, the attack occurred on Sunday, and while eight worshippers escaped, the majority remain in captivity, prompting urgent calls for government intervention.
The association described the incident as a targeted attack on churchgoers, highlighting the security challenges facing rural communities in Southern Kaduna. CAN urged security agencies to intensify rescue operations and ensure the safety of residents.

However, the Kaduna State Police Command dismissed the claims as unfounded, labeling the reports “false and misleading.” Police officials challenged CAN to provide verifiable evidence of the alleged abductions and emphasized that no official reports or confirmed victims have been recorded.
The conflicting reports have sparked public debate, raising concerns about the state of security in Northern Nigeria. Analysts note that while banditry and church attacks have been a recurring issue, verifying claims before public dissemination is crucial to avoid misinformation and panic. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have urged residents to remain calm and provide credible information.
