Cancer Patient Appeals for Second Wife for Husband, Cites Sexual, Health Challenges
A mother of three battling cancer, Kemisola Mustapha, has stirred widespread public reaction after appealing for a second wife for her husband, saying her health condition has made it difficult for her to meet some marital and sexual obligations.
According to a report by PUNCH, Mustapha, a trader, made the appeal in an emotional video shared on her TikTok page, explaining that her cancer diagnosis in 2024 has significantly affected her family life.
She said the illness has limited her physical strength and intimacy with her husband, prompting her decision to seek a co-wife who would help restore happiness and stability in the home.
Mustapha disclosed that she had been searching for a suitable second wife for over nine months, stressing that she wants someone of good character, who is loving, faithful, peaceful, and educated.
Describing her husband as supportive and selfless, she revealed that he had sold nearly all his properties to finance her cancer treatment, adding that her decision was driven by love and gratitude rather than fear or despair.

“This request is from the bottom of my heart. My mind is totally open to it,” she said.
“My husband is a very good man. He has tried for me physically, financially, and emotionally. Sexually, I am depriving my husband of a lot of things. There are many things I cannot do again because of my health. I want my husband to be happy again.”
She added that she wanted a co-wife who would love her husband, children, and herself, noting that peace and mutual respect were non-negotiable.
Mustapha further revealed that she had initially halted the search after receiving warnings from another woman who cautioned that a new wife might exploit her illness or even wish her harm.
However, she said she later reconsidered, insisting that her decision was not motivated by thoughts of death or hopelessness.
“I am not dying. I am not giving up anytime soon,” she said. “I am doing this because of the love I have for my husband and children. I want the happiness we used to have in my home.”
She disclosed that although her husband initially opposed the idea of taking another wife, he eventually agreed after persistent discussions, adding that the decision was formalised through a legal undertaking.
Outlining her requirements, Mustapha said the prospective wife must be loving, peaceful, faithful, educated, and from a good family background, stressing that the arrangement must be built on understanding and mutual respect.
