Catherine, Princess of Wales, says she has cancer
Catherine, Princess of Wales, revealed Friday she has been diagnosed with cancer and is in the “early stages” of treatment. Read her statement.
The princess, known as Kate, described her diagnosis as a “huge shock” in a video statement. It comes two months after she had temporarily stepped away from public life following what Kensington Palace said at the time was surgery for a non-cancerous abdominal condition.
The news, which follows King Charles III undergoing treatment for an unspecified cancer, prompted a wave of sympathy, led by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the White House. Prince Harry and Meghan also sent their best wishes for “health and healing” to Kate.
