CBN governor Emefiele meets Tinubu at Presidential Villa
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu entered the villa at 2:30pm and immediately inspected a parade by the Guards of Honour before the meeting.
He was received at the villa by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Emefiele, Mele Kyari, who is the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL); speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Permanent Secretary, State House, Tijjani Umar.
The new President had during his inaugural address charged the CBN to work towards a unified exchange rate.
He had also vowed to review the naira redesign policy of the former administration which was implemented by the CBN.
Wale Edun, former Lagos Finance Commissioner and James Faleke, a House of Representatives member, were also at the villa for the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Emefiele left without addressing the media but Kyari spoke to journalists on fuel subsidy.
