Mourinho Wants Osimhen to Lead Real Madrid Attack in Major Rebuild
Mourinho Wants Osimhen to Lead Real Madrid Attack in Major Rebuild
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing for a major rebuild ahead of next season, with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen emerging as one of the club’s leading transfer targets amid growing speculation surrounding a possible return for legendary Portuguese coach José Mourinho.
The developments come after a disappointing campaign for the Spanish giants, who ended the season without a major trophy, increasing pressure on the club’s hierarchy to restructure the squad and technical setup ahead of the new season.
Reports from Spanish and Portuguese media indicate that Real Madrid are seriously considering a move for Osimhen as part of efforts to strengthen their attack.
The Nigerian international has remained one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards following his prolific performances for Galatasaray during his loan spell from Napoli. His pace, aerial strength, finishing ability and aggressive pressing style have reportedly impressed Madrid’s recruitment team.
According to the reports, Madrid believe Osimhen’s physical presence would create more attacking freedom for Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, particularly in transition play and aerial situations.
Club officials are reportedly prioritising the signing of a traditional centre-forward capable of offering a stronger presence inside the penalty box, an area many observers believe weakened Madrid during crucial matches this season.
Speculation over Mourinho’s possible return to Real Madrid has also intensified in recent weeks, with reports suggesting the Portuguese tactician has emerged as one of the club’s preferred managerial options.
Mourinho, who previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, remains one of the most successful and controversial coaches in the club’s modern history.

The Portuguese coach is currently in charge of Benfica, but reports claim early discussions regarding a possible return to the Santiago Bernabéu have already taken place through his long-time agent Jorge Mendes.
According to reports, Mourinho has outlined two major conditions before accepting a return to Real Madrid.
The first condition reportedly centres on recruitment and transfer authority. Mourinho is said to want significant influence over player signings, squad planning and identification of areas requiring reinforcement.
During his first spell at the club, Mourinho played a key role in transfers involving players such as Luka Modrić, Mesut Özil and Sami Khedira, and he reportedly expects similar influence if reappointed.
The second condition concerns internal club structure and dressing-room management. Mourinho is believed to want full autonomy for his coaching staff with minimal interference from external figures regarding team affairs and player management.
The reported demands come amid suggestions of internal tensions within the squad following disagreements involving senior players and members of the coaching staff during the season.
Mourinho has long been an admirer of Victor Osimhen dating back to their encounters in Serie A when the striker played for Napoli while Mourinho managed AS Roma.
The Portuguese manager previously compared Osimhen to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba because of his physicality, aerial dominance and attacking intensity.
Sources close to the reports claim Mourinho sees Osimhen as the ideal striker to lead a new-look Real Madrid attack capable of competing aggressively in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid’s failure to secure major silverware this season has intensified calls for major changes at the club.
The possibility of Mourinho’s return has already divided opinion among fans and football analysts. While some supporters believe his experience, discipline and winning mentality could help restore the club’s dominance, others fear his confrontational style could revive dressing-room tensions.
Meanwhile, Osimhen continues to attract strong interest from clubs in England, France and Saudi Arabia ahead of the summer transfer window.
Although no official offer has yet been confirmed, the growing links between Real Madrid, Mourinho and Osimhen suggest the Spanish giants could be preparing for one of their biggest rebuilds in recent years.

Real Madrid Crisis Deepens as Arbeloa Calls Out Mbappé Over Commitment
Real Madrid Crisis Deepens as Arbeloa Calls Out Mbappé Over Commitment
Álvaro Arbeloa has urged Kylian Mbappé to demonstrate full commitment to Real Madrid in the closing stages of the La Liga season, as the club attempts to recover from a disappointing, trophyless campaign.
Real Madrid head into their final three league matches amid intense scrutiny after losing the title race to Barcelona, who have already been confirmed as La Liga champions for the season. The result has left Los Blancos without a major trophy, increasing pressure on players and coaching staff.
Mbappé has come under criticism from sections of the Real Madrid fanbase following reports that he travelled to Sardinia during his recovery from a thigh injury. His absence from the squad during the El Clásico defeat to Barcelona further fueled frustration among supporters.
The defeat not only ended Madrid’s title hopes but also intensified discussions around player fitness management and accountability in a season where expectations at the Santiago Bernabéu remain extremely high.
Speaking ahead of Madrid’s upcoming La Liga fixture against already-relegated Real Oviedo, Arbeloa stressed that Mbappé should use the remaining games to reaffirm his dedication to the club and its supporters. He said that if Mbappé is fit and available, he should be given minutes in the final matches as an opportunity to demonstrate commitment on the pitch.

Arbeloa added that, both as a coach and as a Madrid supporter, he expects Mbappé to continue contributing goals while showing clear dedication to the team’s objectives. He emphasized that what matters most at this stage is effort, consistency, and visible commitment to the badge.
The former Real Madrid defender also warned that the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu could be tense, with reports suggesting Mbappé may face mixed reactions from fans, including boos or whistles, due to frustrations over the team’s underwhelming season.
Despite the criticism, Mbappé remains one of the club’s key attacking players and is expected to feature in the remaining fixtures as Real Madrid begin early preparations for next season and potential squad adjustments.
Arbeloa further reinforced the club’s strict standards, insisting that every Real Madrid player must fully understand the responsibility that comes with wearing the shirt. He stated that no player can afford to give anything less than their maximum effort, regardless of status or reputation.
His comments reflect the long-standing Real Madrid culture of high expectations, where performance, discipline, and consistency are considered essential at all times.
With the La Liga title already decided, Real Madrid are now focused on finishing the season strongly and assessing their squad ahead of the next campaign. Mbappé’s performances in the remaining games are expected to play a key role in shaping early discussions about the club’s rebuild.

Rashford Fires Barcelona to 29th LaLiga Title Against Real Madrid
Rashford Fires Barcelona to 29th LaLiga Title Against Real Madrid
FC Barcelona have been crowned champions of the La Liga for the second consecutive season after defeating arch-rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in a decisive El Clásico clash at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The victory confirmed Barcelona’s 29th LaLiga title, handing the Catalan club an unassailable 14-point lead at the top of the table with only three matches remaining in the season.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres inside the opening 20 minutes sealed the title-winning victory in front of a jubilant home crowd.
Rashford opened the scoring with a superb free-kick after a foul on Torres, while Torres later doubled Barcelona’s advantage following a clever assist from Dani Olmo.
The latest El Clásico triumph further highlighted Barcelona’s dominance in Spanish football under manager Hansi Flick, who has now won the Spanish league title in each of his first two seasons in charge of the club.
Barcelona’s latest success also marked another major milestone in Flick’s rebuilding project since replacing Xavi Hernández in 2024.
Under the German coach, Barcelona have now secured five domestic trophies, including back-to-back Spanish Supercopa titles and last season’s Copa del Rey crown.

The title-winning match carried emotional significance for Flick after reports emerged before kickoff that his father had passed away earlier in the day. Despite the personal tragedy, the Barcelona manager remained on the touchline as his players delivered a commanding performance against their fiercest rivals.
The victory was later dedicated to Flick by several Barcelona players, while the squad reportedly wore black armbands in solidarity with their coach.
The result also entered the history books as only the second El Clásico ever to directly decide the LaLiga title race. The first such occasion occurred in 1932 when a draw between Barcelona and Real Madrid confirmed Madrid as champions.
Barcelona’s road to the title was far from straightforward.
The Catalan giants trailed Real Madrid earlier in the season after suffering defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu in October. At one stage, Madrid held a five-point advantage following a strong run of results.
However, momentum gradually shifted as Barcelona rediscovered consistency while Madrid struggled with poor form and dropped valuable points against teams including Osasuna, Mallorca, Girona, and Getafe.
Barcelona capitalised fully on their rivals’ inconsistency, embarking on a remarkable 10-match winning streak in the league to reclaim control of the title race.
Their attacking form proved particularly impressive throughout the campaign.
Barcelona scored in 55 consecutive matches across competitions, a streak surpassed only by the club’s legendary 2012-13 side, which found the net in 64 straight games.
Key players such as Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, and Raphinha played crucial roles during the campaign despite injuries affecting parts of the squad at different stages of the season.
Barcelona’s domestic dominance comes despite continued frustration in Europe.
The club suffered elimination in the UEFA Champions League semifinal against Inter Milan last season before enduring another disappointing quarterfinal exit this campaign.
Nevertheless, their performances in Spain have firmly re-established Barcelona as the dominant force in domestic football.
For Real Madrid, the defeat confirmed a disappointing season without a major trophy and increased pressure surrounding the future of manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The loss has also intensified speculation over possible squad changes at the Santiago Bernabéu ahead of next season.
Barcelona will now look to build on their domestic success and translate their consistency into European glory in future campaigns.
