Chelsea finally make formal bid for Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen, according to reports from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Blues have presented the bid to Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, with formal negotiations with Napoli set to begin on Wednesday.
Osimhen, who has made it clear to Napoli that he wishes to leave, is now the subject of intense transfer talks as the August 31 deadline looms.
Chelsea, eager to secure a top-tier striker before the window closes, have turned their full attention to the Nigerian international, who has been a standout performer in Serie A.
In the meantime, Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of sealing a move to Napoli. The Belgian striker, who has been out of favor at Chelsea, traveled to Naples on Wednesday to undergo a medical examination ahead of signing his contract with the former Serie A champions.
Osimhen has also attracted interest from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, who made a lucrative offer verified by his agent Calenda. However, the 25-year-old striker has made it clear that he has no plans to leave Europe at this stage of his career.

This stance underscores his desire to continue competing at the highest level in European football.
Chelsea have also identified Brentford’s Ivan Toney as a backup option should their pursuit of Osimhen fall through.
However, their primary focus remains on the Napoli star, who has been prolific since joining the Italian club from Lille in 2020, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances.
His remarkable form earned him the title of African Footballer of the Year, and he finished eighth in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, including a reported €70 million offer from Al-Ahli, Osimhen remains committed to staying in Europe. His current contract with Napoli, which includes a €130 million release clause, runs until June 2026.
Chelsea will also face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who had previously reached a preliminary agreement with Osimhen earlier this summer.
As the transfer saga reaches its climax, Osimhen continues to train separately from the Napoli squad, awaiting the resolution of his future.
With just days left before the transfer window closes, all eyes are on Chelsea and Napoli to see if they can finalize a deal for one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
