It was an exhilarating experience for many lovers of brand new cars in Lagos on Saturday May 25, 2024 who showed up for a rare test-drive opportunity provided by Chery (Automobile) Nigeria.

The event, which took off at the Carloha Showroom in Alapere, Ogudu end of the Third Mainland Bridge, was a spectacular, drawing esteemed customers, media partners and other stakeholders.

The latest Chery models, Tiggo 8 Pro, Tiggo 4 Pro, Tiggo 2 Pro and Arizo 5, were released to the invitees to have a firsthand feel of the luxury, comfort and high-tech features during the thrilling experience.

Each driver went through the iconic Third Mainland Bridge, turning at Adekunle, and returning to the Carloha Showroom.

FEC approves purchase of N1.99bn CNG vehicles for NDLEA

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Tuesday approved the purchase of 33 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles to boost the operations of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The vehicles worth N1.99 billion are to be supplied by Mikano Motors, one of Nigeria’s local automobile assemblers.

The council gave the approval on Tuesday at its meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

Lateef Fagbemi, the attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice, disclosed this while speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting.

He said the council also approved the procurement of firearms and ammunition worth $1.442 billion to strengthen the NDLEA’s fight against drug trafficking.

Fagbemi said FEC approved N985 million to purchase body scanners at all the country’s international airports.

He said, “We submitted three items to the council on the NDLEA.

“FEC approved the procurement of 33 Mikano Motors vehicles CNG to boost the operation of NDLEA.

“Approval for NDLEA for procurement of firearms, ammunition, and counter-narcotics for the sum of $1.442 billion; the procurement of two units of body scanners for use both at Abuja and international airports at N985 million.”

Toyota (Nigeria) Limited (TNL) will this week treat its customers and fans to a special Toyota Motor Show in Lagos.
The three-day event holding from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Podium in Lekki, will provide an enabling environment for customers and prospects to interact closely with their vehicles and get more informed about the company’s after-sale services/products vis body and paints and allied products, vehicle service and spare parts.
The Motor Show, the company said, would feature test drive of different models, free vehicle diagnostics, as well as a full complement of after-sales services on the ground for customers to take advantage of.
