Chief Imam of Owo, Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe, is dead
The Muslim community in Ondo State is mourning the passing of Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe, the Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas, who died at the age of 91.
The news of his death was confirmed on Tuesday by Kamorudeen Ishola, a respected Muslim leader in Owo. He disclosed that the revered cleric passed away on Monday evening at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
Sheikh Aladesawe, widely regarded for his decades of spiritual leadership and service to Islam, will be laid to rest in line with Islamic burial rites at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in his hometown of Owo, Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State.

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) in Ondo State also expressed condolences to his family, the Owo Muslim community, and the nation over the loss.
Abdulwaasii Yusuf, State Missioner of NACOMYO, said in a statement that the entire Muslim youth would deeply miss Sheikh Aladesawe.
Sheikh Aladesawe before his passing served as the Secretary General of Imams and Alfas in the South West, Edo, and Delta States.
He was widely admired for his contributions to the growth of Islam and peace-building efforts across Ondo State and beyond.
