Lokoja-Abuja highway flooded, travellers stranded

Motorists and other road users had a hectic moment on Lokoja-Abuja highway on Monday as flood took over the section where a new bridge is being constructed around Koton Karfe town in Kogi State.

Commuters were held up for several hours, resulting in heavy traffic jam that extended to Lokoja-Koton-Karfe road.

Many vehicles got trapped as there was no alternative routes.

Traffic officials including police, soldiers and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as well as youth volunteers were drafted to the scene before orderliness was restored.
