There was a commotion at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Saturday following a report of gunshots at the institution.
A source at the school said the place was invaded by some armed people suspected to be officers of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who came in a white bus and started shooting, with students scampering to safe areas.
It was learnt that some days ago, students had resisted attempts by the NDLEA to arrest some of them.
Kwara State police spokesman, Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the incident however it did not involve the NDLEA.
“Students were protesting; so the police were deployed to the area. I am not aware of any gunmen. The Kwara police at the institution to calm things.”
