Representative of Ford Motor in Nigeria and renowned auto assembler, Coscharis Motors Plc, is repositioning the Ford Escape as a smart utility vehicle that enables one to make the most of the terrain around, with its All-Wheel-Drive and streamlined power.
The firm has also announced nearly N2m discount on the Escape.
Announcing the discount, Abiona Babarinde, General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Coscharis Group says, “We are excited to announce the offering of nearly N2m discount on the Ford Escape. Our esteemed customers can also now drive home the Escape and other Ford variants of their choice with as little as 10 per cent to 30 per cent down payment of the vehicle price, courtesy of our partnership with our sister company, Coscharis Mobility and Polaris Bank.”
According to Coscharis, Ford Escape is the Smart Utility Vehicle that perfectly reflects one’s aspiring, self-assured nature.
A statement by Brand Manager for Ford, Coscharis Motors Plc, Felix Mahan, says, “Its inspirational technologies together, with a beautifully executed design, deliver premium luxury with superior performance – making the Escape the ideal partner to your enterprising and adventurous spirit.
“Wherever your travels take you, the Escape delivers smart and effortless adventure with exciting technology you never want to be without.”
The Escape’s optional wide-angle rear-view camera is said to automatically activate when the reverse gear is selected. This, it says, gives onr a clear view of what’s behind and takes the guesswork out of reversing.
The firm says one can bid goodbye to traditional handbrake with the Escape’s space-saving electronic handbrake, which lets one park securely with the touch of a button.
“Also say goodbye to the stress of parallel and perpendicular parking with optional Enhanced Park Assist. First, Enhanced Park Assist helps you find a parking bay. It then helps to steer you in and even helps you steer out while you work the gears, accelerator and brake,” it states.
The optional SYNC 3 is said to be available on all derivatives offers so much in addition to all the voice-activated benefits of SYNC – placing and answering calls, and controlling music from your devices.
“You’ll love the new easy-to-use interface of SYNC®3. Its 8-inch colour touchscreen displays phone, audio and navigation features, with enhanced voice recognition that lets you give simple commands. The capacitive touchscreen includes a convenient swipe feature, as well as pinch-to-zoom functionality within navigation,” the statement adds.
Family-focused
The Ford Escape designers in creating the interior have the family in mind, with a very spacious cabin space said to be completely intuitive to one’s needs.
Coscharis says the spacious Escape becomes even roomier when it is folded down the 60:40 split rear seats.
Fold down one seat to fit those extra pieces of luggage, and still have room for passengers; fold both seats flat to carry a bigger load in the very sizeable 1 653-litres of space, it says, adding that there is even a hidden compartment for valuables.
Performance
The vehicle’s intelligent AWD system monitors each wheel and increases or decreases the amount of torque to optimize grip and handling in all conditions.
A display in the instrument panel is said to let you see how the system is performing, by giving you a graphic illustration of the power distribution between all four wheels.
The fuel-saving technology in the Escape is designed to help lower your cost of ownership.
Its EcoBoost engine technology turns traditional petrol-engine thinking on its head.
Its advanced direct injection and turbocharging combines small-engine fuel economy and big-engine power into one, so you don’t have to compromise on either. That is why the Escape is adjudged to deliver the most powerful engines in its segment without the compromise of efficiency.
The vehicle’s highly advanced technology provides you with the very best levels of protection, and helps make your life simpler and stress-free too.
It comes with seven airbags – including side-curtain airbags – offering 360-degrees of protection for both front and backseat passengers.
Safety
The safety features available on the Escape are the Adaptive Cruise Control and collision warning; Lane-Departure Warning with Lane-Keeping Aid; Intelligent Protection System (IPS); Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as well as front and curtain airbags; and many more.
It says, “If another vehicle is in your blind spot when changing lanes, the Blind Spot Information System alerts you with a discreet warning light built into the driver and passenger doors’ side mirrors.
“When traffic is crawling along, it can be easy to miss someone suddenly stopping. In speeds under 30km/h, the optional Active City Stop detects if the car ahead has unexpectedly stopped and automatically applies the brakes.”
