Côte d’Ivoire beat Nigeria 2-1 to lift AFCON 2023 trophy
The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday night lost to the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Eagles took the lead in the 38th minute from a Troost-Ekong header.
The hosts Ivory Coast came back to win the game after two goals from Franck Kessie and star striker Sebastian Haller.
Troost-Ekong won the player of tournament award.
