National Chairman, David Mark, and National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola
Court bars David Mark, Aregbesola from ADC leadership positions
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted an interim order restraining former Senate President, David Mark, and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola from acting as National Chairman and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The court also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to refrain from recognising the two politicians or their associates in those positions until a pending motion in the case is heard.
The case was brought by Nafiu Bala Gombe, a former Deputy National Chairman of the ADC, who is contesting INEC’s decision to acknowledge the new leadership. Bala maintains that he remains the party’s legitimate chairman.

INEC had earlier updated its records to reflect Mark as Chairman and Aregbesola as Secretary, alongside other members of a new National Working Committee (NWC).
That recognition came after the dissolution of the previous NWC led by Chief Ralph Nwosu during the party’s 99th National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.
