Court convicts Bobrisky, sentence reserved until April 9
The Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday convicted cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, for naira abuse.
He was convicted after the accused pleaded guilty of the charge, saying he was ignorant of the offence.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro however reserved ruling on a four-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The judge ordered that the convict be remanded in the EFCC custody pending the sentence.
Sulaiman Sulaiman appearing for the EFCC had prayed the court to strike out counts five and six concerning alleged money laundering, which was granted.
