Mammoth crowd received President Muhammadu Buhari during his one-day working visit to Imo State on Thursday, despite the heavy presence of security operatives in every part of Owerri, the state capital.
Buhari has already commissioned projects such as Nekede Road, Egbeada Bypass, Balloon drainage system and New Exco Chamber and Lounge in the state.
The President who flew into the heartland city of Owerri from Abuja on Thursday morning is expected to proceed for a town-hall meeting with South-East leaders.
Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, and Abia State deputy governor were present at the event.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Egbeada Bypass at Owerri North Local Government Area, Buhari commended Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The President said the projects would boost economic activities in the state and ease traffic congestion.
He said all projects commissioned were in line with his administration policy.
