Singer Davido has vowed to immortalise his late personal photographer, late Fortunate Umunname Peter aka Fortune.
Fortune, who died on Tuesday, September, 21, was said to have drowned at a location in Lagos while trying to get the perfect camera angle during a shoot.
Expressing unbelief over the reality of his photographer’s demise, Davido noted he was one who was completely dedicated to serving him maximally as his page can attest to that.
The “Dem” singer wrote: “@fortunateumunname …..I can’t believe you’re gone. Since we met u never left my side for one day… Your page says it all. You really were all about me like nothing else truly mattered.”
Still expressing how surreal Fortune’s passing was seeing they still had many things they planned to do together, Davido revealed he transitioned from being just a stranger to a his close confidant in a very while adding the deceased was stuck with everywhere just to ensure he captured every moment.
He wrote: “You went from a complete stranger to one of my closest confidants within weeks. There is nowhere I entered that your lens didn’t enter. I can’t even believe I’m writing a tribute to you right now wtf we still had so much to do.”
The 30BG boss expressed regret that the deceased didn’t afford him the opportunity to fulfil the remaining of his promises to him.
Davido wrote: “Your workshops. Your studios, Trips. Shows. Scenes. Moments. all of it. I can’t believe you didn’t give me the chance to fulfil the rest of my promises to you. My heart is so heavy right now and I’m just grateful I met you.”
The father of three described his late aide as the best kid and a rare breed adding, he appreciated the fact that they were able to create iconic moments while travelling the world together.
Noting he was irreplaceable, Davido further pledged to immortalise him.
He wrote: “You are irreplaceable and you are gone but I will make sure you are never forgotten! I swear it! This next one’s for you! RIP Lil bro. Love you forever. #ForruneShotItAll.”
