Defection call: Ganduje didn’t invite us through proper channel – Gov Yusuf
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has on Friday reacted to the call by the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to join the party, saying the latter didn’t invite him into the party through the right and proper channel.
Governor Yusuf’s reply was coming barely hours after Ganduje during a stakeholders meeting at the APC campaign office in Kano extended invitation to the Governor and his followers to dump the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP and join APC in the state.
The Governor’s spokesperson and Director General, Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa said, the Governor like every other person in Kano, got to hear about Ganduje’s appeal on the pages of social media and has not yet decided to leave the NNPP for APC.
Dawakin-Tofa said “Well, like every other person in Kano, the Governor heard Ganduje making calls on social media. We believe as a former Governor, he should know the right channel of communication if he truly wanted to pass information across to the Governor.
“And as for whether the Governor will join APC, I can confirm to you that my boss has not decided to leave his party the NNPP for APC yet. Let me repeat, the Governor has not decided to join APC for now,” Dawakin-Tofa noted.

His coming to the party will strengthen the APC at the state and national level and will drive development to Kano State as the most populous state in the federation.
“If we can do it at national levels why can’t we do it at the state level.
“We will soon commence e-registration and our target is to have highest number of membership in Kano and to have one party state in Kano.
