Defence Minister orders troops to capture notorious bandit leader Bello Turji
The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, has directed the troops of Operation Fansar Yamma to immediately apprehend notorious bandits’ leader, Turji, without further delay.
The minister issued the order in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, on Thursday while addressing troops at the One Brigade Headquarters.
He was in the state to receive briefings on the ongoing military operations.
Abubakar stated that President Bola Tinubu was pleased with the progress made by the troops in combating banditry over the past few months.
He said, “President Bola Tinubu has recognised some level of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region over the last few months.”
However, the minister acknowledged that challenges remain, as bandits continue to terrorise the region’s population.
