Despite court order, Ajero leads NLC to meeting with FG

Despite court order, Ajero leads NLC to meeting with FG

Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress returned to Aso Villa the seat of power on Monday for a fresh meeting with the Federal Government team on the fallout of the petrol subsidy removal.

President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, and his team arrived at the presidential villa at about 5:45pm on Monday.

The NLC team was absent at the meeting between the government representatives and organised labour on Sunday.

Leaders of the Trade Union Congress attended the Sunday meeting.

President Bola Tinubu on May 29 in his inaugural speech declared that “petrol subsidy is gone”.

The pronouncement immediately resulted in queues at petrol stations and a hike in the pump price of the product across the country.

Organised labour had subsequently met with the government team but the meeting ended in deadlock.
