Dimeji Bankole, ex-House of Reps speaker loses mother
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, is in a mournful mood.
His mother, Alhaja Monsurat Bankole, the Iya Adini of Egbaland land is dead.
She died in the early hours of Friday at the age of 78 after a brief illness.
Alhaja Bankole died in the earlier hours of today, Friday January 10, 2025 after brief illness.
Details surrounding her death is still being shrouded in secrecy.
Generally described as a mother and mentor with absolute compassion, the late Alhaja Bankole is described as a positive influencer whose interest and passion for the good of others and the progress of her immediate environment and beyond was impactful and worthy of emulation.

The Wakeelul Muslimeen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Sheikh Ikleel Lawal popularly called ‘Sugar’ also confirmed the death of Alhaja Bankole.
He confirmed that she would be buried this afternoon, immediately after Solatul Asr, around 4pm at her husband’s house in Oluwo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
She is survived by her husband, Chief Suarau Alani Bankole, the Apena of Egbaland, several children and grand children.
