Doguwa attacks Jibrin again, says he’ll deliver Kano to APC in 2027
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Hon. Alhassan Doguwa, has again hit back at Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency over his recent claim.
Jibrin had suggested that Doguwa poses a significant threat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s influence in Kano State.
But in a statement, Doguwa countered that Jibrin’s focus on him rather than addressing serious allegations shows an attempt to divert attention.
Specifically, Doguwa referenced accusations involving the deaths of seven individuals during the 2019 campaigns, when Jibrin allegedly led a group of thugs in an attack on former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Yusuf.
Doguwa pointed out that Jibrin and 70 others were arrested in connection with the incident.
Doguwa emphasized his significance within the APC, both in Kano and nationally, declaring that he remains an essential figure in the party’s success.
He noted his unique position as the sole legitimately elected member of the APC from the Kano South Senatorial District in the current House of Representatives.

“Today, I stand tall in the Kano political landscape as the only elected member under the APC in Kano South. Despite challenges, I returned to the House of Representatives with overwhelming support,” Doguwa asserted.
He criticized the NNPP’s governance in Kano State, arguing that the party has failed to contribute positively to the state’s development.
According to Doguwa, the NNPP is more focused on political vendettas than on improving the welfare of Kano’s citizens.
In anticipation of the 2027 elections, Doguwa called on the APC leadership to appoint him as the coordinator and director-general of the party’s campaign in Kano.
He confidently pledged to secure a victory for the APC in the state before noon on election day.
“I respectfully request the leadership of our great party, the APC, to allow me to coordinate and serve as Director-General of the Kano State APC Campaign in 2027. I vow to deliver both gubernatorial and presidential results before 12 noon, Insha Allah,” Doguwa declared.
Reflecting on his political career, Doguwa highlighted his commitment to legislative duties and loyalty to his principals, stating that he has never been suspended or found wanting throughout his 33 years of service in the House of Representatives.
“With all humility, I am currently the longest-serving member in the country, and my dedication to my constituents and collaboration with security agencies is well-documented,” he concluded.
