ECO Green Bus boss visits Yasin over CNG commercial vehicles
Chief Executive Officer of Eco Green Bus, Mr Johann Rieger from Austria, has paid a business visit to a respected transport unionist, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin, the Makaman Gausu, in his Abuja office
ECO Green Bus is an auto manufacturing company with special interest in the CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) buses
A statement by Yasin media team quoted Rieger during the visit as seeking the help of Yasin in the marketing and distribution of the ECO Green buses in Nigeria.
The package, according to him, will include training, maintenance and installation of gas stations across the country.
Responding, Yasin said the CNG initiative was timely, considering the Federal Government’s policy of fuel subsidy removal.
He however hinted that “with the current foreign exchange rates, it is only government (both state and federal) that could buy the buses.
But as a trade unionist and with backing of members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) across the country, “we can use our platform to purchase the vehicles for our members to boost government’s policy on mass transit.
“We have done it with both FG and some states governments in the past and we can still do it.”
He explained that members of the union would key into the government with the assistance and backing of state governments.
