Edo woman burns domestic servant’s genitals

A 31-year-old woman, Abigail Oluwarotimi, has been arrested by operatives of the Edo State Police Command for  allegedly burning her domestic servant’s genital with a hot metal object.

The incident was said to have occurred on Saturday, 11 January, 2025, in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the State.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman,  Moses Yamu, disclosed that the 15-year-old victim, Jude Joseph, sustained injuries in his lap and genital.

According to the statement, the suspect “heated a metal object in fire and used it to inflict burns on her house help.

“The suspect was promptly arrested. She confessed to the crime and blamed her action on the allegation that the boy molested her children.”

The victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Meanwhile,

the State Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, who expressed concern about the development, has warned the general public against taking laws into their hands, just as he emphasized the importance of allowing the law take its course.
