EFCC denies abducting, forcing NNPC boss Ojulari to resign
A source within the EFCC dismissed the report — published by an online newspaper on Saturday — as “ridiculous and mischievous,” saying that Ojulari was neither detained nor coerced into submitting a resignation letter.
The controversial report further alleged that Adeola Ajayi, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), was complicit in the supposed plot.
However, insiders in the anti-graft agency refuted the allegations, describing them as baseless and misleading.

“There is absolutely no need for EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede to abduct or pressure anyone to resign,” the source said. “He’s not an appointing authority. If he requires someone to answer for anything, he follows due process — either by writing or issuing a formal invitation.”
The official added that Olukoyede is a “law-abiding leader” who has never forced, bullied, or intimidated anyone out of office.
