EPL: Chukwuemeka wins Chelsea goal of the month award

Carney Chukwuemeka has won the Chelsea Goal of the Month award for August.

Chukwuemeka beat Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Zak Sturge and Leo Castledine to the award.

The youngster’s superb strike in the Blues 3-1 defeat against West Ham United was overwhelmingly voted for by the fans.

The midfielder wriggled through the West Ham defence in the 28th minute before unleashing a powerful shot beyond Alphonse Areola.

Chukwuemeka won 61 percent of the vote, with Sterling coming second with 31 percent votes.

The 19-year-old is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.
