Former Osun State Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi, has expressed strong confidence that he will clinch the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2026 election. Alabi said his political experience and proven track record place him in a favourable position, whether the All Progressives Congress (APC) opts for a primary election or a consensus arrangement.

He made the declaration in Osogbo after the Osun Ajose Foundation — a sociopolitical group — purchased and presented a N50 million APC governorship nomination form to him. Alabi thanked the group for its confidence and pledged not to disappoint if elected as the next Governor of Osun State.

Alabi promised an inclusive government, assuring participation from all segments of society. “The promise of Osun is a promise of opportunity for all,” he said. “We must open doors for everyone — the youth, entrepreneurs, farmers, teachers, and civil servants — to create a prosperous and fair state.”

He emphasised his vision for a vibrant economy built on innovation, hard work, and shared prosperity. Alabi also vowed to run a transparent government, leveraging technology to enhance accountability in procurement and revenue collection, ensuring that every public fund serves the people.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General of the Osun Ajose Foundation, Moruf Adekunle, Badmus Opeyemi said the group’s support was driven by Alabi’s positive impact during his tenure. “He has greatly empowered the youth, and purchasing this form is our way of giving back,” he stated.

Also, Ishola Kehinde urged APC leaders to support Alabi’s ambition, expressing confidence that his candidacy would secure victory for the party in the 2026 Osun governorship election.
