Fani-Kayode reveals Tinubu’s source of wealth

The Director of New Media for the Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Femi Fani-Kayode, says the presidential flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, became rich by investing in the United State of America (USA), long before the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) struggle started in 1994.

Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, made this remark during a recent interview on Twitter Space, monitored by Newsbreak.ng.

The source of Tinubu’s money has been under scrutiny ahead of the 2023 elections. However, Fani-Kayode insisted the ex-Governor of Lagos was not a “pauper” before he became a senator in the 90s.

He said: “Definitely, he was not a poor man when he came into government in 1999. He was one of those who funded NADECO. And he didn’t just fund it in Nigeria, NADECO leaders and fighters were all over the world.

“Tinubu was supporting them with his resources from America, he was sending money in the fight against military dictatorship in Nigeria. And it cost him a fortune.

“Where did he get the money? He had investments in the United State of America, long before the NADECO struggle even started.

“This was a man that was working in an oil company in America, this was a man that made investments in America at that time in various sectors like property, communications, oil, and so many things. That is his own investments, and he made a lot of money.”
