APC presidential primary: Fayemi. Amosun, Akpabio, Bankole step down for Tinubu

As the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress got underway Tuesday night, some of the 23 aspirants announced their decision to withdraw from the race.

Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, former Akwa Ibom State governor, Goodswill Akpabio, stepped down for Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

Former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and ex-Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, also stepped down for the former Lagos governor.

They made the announcements differently while addressing delegates at the ongoing convention in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife were at the convention.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who is also an a presidential aspirant was yet to address the forum as of the time of filing this report (10.40pm).
