Abiodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as a new governor of Ekiti State as Kayode Fayemi bows out of office after completing his tenure.
Oyebanji was sworn in Sunday afternoon by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye.
The inauguration took place at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Taking Oath of Office, Oyebanji pledged to protect, defend as well as preserve the office as governor in the presence of a large crowd of Ekiti people.
Also in attendance are presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governors of Ekiti State, Niyi Adebayo and Ayodele Fayose as well as pioneer Chairman of APC and former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande.
Ministers, senators, diplomats, traditional rulers and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
Addressing the people, the newly sworn-in Governor Abiodun Oyebanji pledged to make Ekiti a land of prosperity, opportunity, peace and progress.
