Female student bites off classmate’s tongue during dispute
In a disturbing incident at a federal government-owned secondary school in Umuahia, a female student identified as Amarachi Chibueze reportedly bit off the tongue of her classmate, Adaeze, during a heated argument.
The altercation, which allegedly took place on Friday, began over a dispute concerning food in the school.
Witnesses claim that Amarachi grabbed Adaeze by the neck before biting off a part of her tongue and spitting it onto the ground.

The injured student was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Umuahia, where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to receive emergency medical care.
While details of the incident remain under investigation, reports suggest that Amarachi has been expelled from the school. Other sources, however, indicate she is being held to assist authorities in their inquiries.
This incident has sparked conversations about student conduct and the importance of conflict resolution training within schools.
