Female student stabbed to death in Gombe

A female NCE III student at Gombe State College of Education was fatally wounded by unidentified assailants in the Billiri Local Government Area of the state over the weekend.

It was discovered that the murderers tracked the student to her room in a private hostel in the Zazzagawa neighborhood of Billiri.

A local resident reported that the woman, a native of Baganje town in the Billiri Local Government Area, was murdered early on Sunday morning by unidentified assailants who then fled the scene.

Gombe State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

He said the police have launched an investigation while the remains of the late Miss Yusuf were deposited at a mortuary pending the outcome of the probe.
