FG announces applications for new job scheme, targets 20,000 Nigerians (How to apply)
The Federal Government has officially opened applications for the second phase of the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP), a flagship youth employment initiative aimed at generating 20,000 jobs annually.
Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, announced the rollout on Thursday via his verified X handle, stating that the programme aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda to empower young Nigerians and tackle unemployment.
“In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to create jobs and empower young Nigerians, the Federal Government has flagged off the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) 2.0, targeting the creation of 20,000 jobs annually,” Olusegun wrote.
Vice President Kashim Shettima had earlier inaugurated the Project Steering Committee at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, ahead of the programme’s formal launch. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive economic growth, and employment generation.

“The Nigerian government has concluded plans to invest $220 million in creating employment opportunities for young Nigerians,” Shettima said.
The NJFP 2.0 is being implemented in partnership with the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It is designed to connect high-performing graduates with host organizations across Nigeria, offering 12-month paid fellowships, mentorship, and skills development.
According to Shettima, over 14,000 young Nigerians benefited from the first phase of the programme. The new phase aims to deploy 24,000 fellows within the next 10 months across key sectors including agriculture, digital technology, renewable energy, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
The initiative seeks to ease the transition from education to employment by aligning graduate skills with labour market demands, supporting employers, and building a sustainable youth employability ecosystem.
Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications via the official website: www.njfp.ng.
