Nigeria has reached out to China for protection against attacks by terrorists and bandits in the country.

Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Maigari Dingyadi, said Nigeria was ready to partner China to enhance the security of the country. He stated this during a courtesy visit by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, to the ministry headquarters in Abuja.

A statement by the ministry on Thursday quoted the minister as saying there was a need to work with the Asian country.

The minister said with the support of international communities, Nigeria should be able to address its security problems.

The minister also lamented the poverty and unemployment situation facing the country.

He said the FG was doing everything to solve the problem, adding that the government had initiated several programmes for the youths to create job opportunities.
