Fire razes Lagos local govt office, property worth millions of naira destroyed
A fire at an LG warehouse in Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos, early on Sunday, has caused extensive damage, with properties reportedly worth millions of naira destroyed.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, stating that it received distress calls at 00:15 and immediately activated its Emergency Response Plan.
LASEMA’s spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor, reported that upon the arrival of the Dolphin Response Team at 00:40, a large fire was already raging throughout the warehouse.

The fire consumed various goods, including TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners, with losses estimated to run into hundreds of millions of naira.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, no casualties or injuries have been reported. LASEMA, supported by the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other responders, managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures, including other warehouses, a gas station, and residential quarters.
Emergency teams are still working on-site to fully extinguish the fire.
