Five feared dead in Delta gas explosion

Five persons are reportedly feared dead on Friday night in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, after a gas plant went up in flames, destoying several buildings and leaving many persons with serious injuries.

The source of the fire was yet to be known at press time, but a source said firefighters were at the scene making frantic efforts to put out the fire so as to save lives and property of persons living around the area.

“The explosion left several persons dead from various degrees of burn and others badly injured.

“The explosion erupted from Osadebe Gas plant along the expressway, close to Eye Clinic Agbor, Delta State, but we are yet to know the cause of the fire,” the source said.
